Accredited Service Providers are organisations (most often, research institutions) with a recognised expertise in one or several of the Areas of Expertise that are relevant for DANUBIUS-RI. ASPs can be:
Leader or co-leader for a Node, in which case they are also referred to as “Leading Laboratory” for the said Node;
Hosting and operating a Supersite, in which case they are also referred to as “Hosting Institution” for the said Supersite;
Contributor to the activities and services of DANUBIUS-RI, but with no hosting or leadership role, in which case they are only referred to as “ASP”
In other words, all organisations taking part in the provision of services and in carrying out activities at DANUBIUS-RI are ASPs, but only organisations without leadership or hosting roles are referred to as “ASP”.
ASPs with no leadership/hosting roles may contribute to DANUBIUS-RI under various forms:
Delegation or secondment of staff taking part in the provision of services and in carrying out activities;
Provision of data;
Contribution in equipment (the equipment is made available for DANUBIUS-RI to use in the context of activities and services, for a limited time);
Accredited Service Providers are to be developed as part of the Nodes, under the coordination of the Leading Laboratories, as significant part of the effort of capacity building in Europe and beyond, done by DANUBIUS-RI.
